Chin-Māo began in 1984 to develop mutually beneficial relationships between Māori and Chinese peoples. It's primary objective now is to utilise the strong, friendship that has been built over the past 28 years, to facilitate educational, cultural and economic developments that will be beneficial to both Chinese and Māori peoples and New Zealand Aotearoa as a whole.
The delegations are reciprocal in nature and now generally operate on an annual basis and we make every effort to organise exchanges to suit the interests of the participants. Some delegations are timed to coincide with specific occasions such as commemorations of special events.Read More
